Welcome to the Tulsa Art Deco Society!

Welcome to our little corner of the Internet.  The Tulsa Art Deco Society has been around for a few years.  Founded by Rex Ball (our current board president) and several other leaders in our community several years ago - we are in the midst of a revitalization strategy and are actively looking for those, like us, in the greater Tulsa area that are passionate about everything Deco!!  If you love Art Deco architecture, furniture, lamps or 1930's movies that were infused with the style -- we're with you!  If you have an interest in getting involved with our organization, please contact us via the "contact us" link on our homepage.  We'd love to hear from you in our blog if you'd like to talk about anything Deco to include your latest Deco discovery in the greater Tulsa area.  It might be one of the awesome findings in downtown Tulsa - or perhaps an old Art Deco style building along Route 66 that is in need of some attention.

We have some beautiful examples of Art Deco architecture here in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

In the world of architecture, Tulsa is best known for its zigzag and streamline styles.  A building boom on the heels of the wealth brought by huge oil gushers in the early 20th century gave Tulsa one of the largest concentrations of Art Deco architecture in the United States.  Tulsa's Art Deco is found throughout its older neighborhoods in downtown and midtown.  Some of the most famous include the Boston Avenue Methodist Church, the Philtower, and the Mid-Continent Tower which have attracted architectural interest across the globe. In 2001, Tulsa served as the host city for the International Art Deco Congress, a semiannual event designed to promote Art Deco architecture internationally.

Our Passion

The Tulsa Art Deco Society is dedicated to the preservation and celebration of everything Art Deco in the greater Tulsa metro area.  We are also dedicated to the education of the public regarding the Art Deco treasures held within our state!
